Freaked out yet?
Halloween may be only just over but this weird showcase of wires pretending to be muscles and tendons - particularly with the partial 'face' - retains some of the fright night scares.
As we've seen, there are many other robotics companies that have decided to go down the route of less complex anatomical matching with humans. Clone's relatively unique take doesn't seem to have the strength or dexterity of those that are closer to market, such as 1X, Figure and Tesla.
Still, an interesting take - we're still very much in the 'crazy design stage' before we get to a broadly settled robot design. It's always worth remembering how many versions of the bicycle people had to fall off before we discovered that two similar-sized wheels, dropped handlebars and a level seat were probably OK.
More interesting forms to come, no doubt. I don't think this one is going to last, however - except in horror movies of the 2040's ...
