At ModelProp, we're always interested in where the boundaries of AI are pushing at next. So here's the first time I've ever seen a 'movie' trailer with such consistent characterisation.
This is the story of unhappy Karen - the catch-all name for a certain type of woman portrayed across social media as someone that complains all the time, in particular demanding refunds at shops and asking to speak to managers if she does not get her way.
It's by no means perfect - the rollerskater has a beard then does not have a beard; the manager's eye is skewed then not skewed; there are rather too many explosions and, were it a standard trailer, it wears a little towards the end. But - and it's a bit but - this is pure AI. No scenes shot using humans. No sets to build. No scriptwriters. No musicians.
If you're a creative in Hollywood, this is where your nightmares start - if you're in charge of the money, this is dreamland. It's going to take a while before we see a first full-length attempt at something like this but the fact that we're making observable tracks towards it is really quite incredible.
This is what I always mean by the pace of change being so much faster than any technological change in the past. AI is going to transform every single job out there. Our task here at ModelProp is to make sure that, for agents, it's changing their jobs for the better - humans doing the (face-to-face) human stuff again, freed from their screens, whilst the machines pick up the dull stuff that we've all somehow found ourselves attending to.
It might not make Karen happy - not sure that anything will - but AI will transform the lives (and profits) of so many agencies out there.
