At ModelProp, as you know, we're not the biggest fans of deepfakes - like junk food, they're momentarily pleasurable but the lasting feeling is that you've pretty much let yourself (and everyone else) down by enjoying them.
'AI for good' will not thrive amongst lawsuits and a deep lack of trust in one's own perception of what's real or not.
However, when the deepfakes are actually posted by someone being deepfaked, that feels a little better. Like you've actually eaten the side salad with your burger, perhaps. So here we have Elon Musk tweeting (Xing, whatever) an AI fashion show including himself in some skimpy briefs, as well as (admittedly) Joe Biden in a wheelchair. It does have Donald Trump in something resembling a prison uniform, if that qualifies as 'balance'.
(The creator - and possibly sharer Musk? - does seem to have something of a soft-spot for Obama, however, as he features in way more outfits than anyone else and looks pretty cool in all of them.)
There's relatively little nutrition in this week's VoW, to be sure - but everyone needs to have the occasional pointless binge. It's got the Pope, Zuck, Xi, Pelosi, Clinton, Bezos and Saunders so covers a number of bases.
