Pinterest's AI Magic: Transforming Ad Imagery

Image: Pinterest

Pinterest is stepping up its game by rolling out generative AI tools to jazz up product imagery for advertisers.

At their Pinterest Presents event, they unveiled snazzy new features in their Pinterest Performance+ suite, blending automation with AI magic. Advertisers can now transform dull, blank backgrounds into vibrant lifestyle scenes, making product pins pop!

This AI wizardry isn’t exclusive to Pinterest; it’s a growing trend among tech giants like Google and Amazon. But now, Pinterest advertisers can join the party, too. Walgreens, an early adopter, tested the AI across 50 products, boosting clickthrough rates by 55% and slashing costs per click by 13% with AI-crafted backgrounds.

With these tools, advertisers can whip up campaigns with half the usual effort. Early tests showed a 64% cost per action drop and a 30% conversion rate boost, plus a 1.8x return on ad spend. Talk about a win-win!

But wait, there’s more! Pinterest is rolling out Promotions, offering discounts to users in multiple countries, from the U.S. to Japan. Personalized Promotions and Deals ads will spotlight sales, giving users more reasons to shop.

Plus, Pinterest Performance+ bidding is getting an upgrade, allowing advertisers to aim for the highest value, not just clicks or conversions. Now, global advertisers can access Performance+ campaigns for various objectives, from Consideration to Catalog Sales.

With these AI-powered tools, Pinterest is not just pinning inspiration but also driving real results for advertisers. Get ready to see your ads shine!
