“The vision is to be the Netflix of AI,” said Fable’s chief executive Edward Saatchi. “Maybe you finish all the episodes of a show you’re watching and click a button to make another episode. You can say what it should be about or let the AI take the reins.”
While Showrunner’s initial slate of shows is mainly animation, this venture marks a significant step in the tech industry’s foray into Hollywood, despite the backlash AI tools have faced. “It’ll understand the core conflict of your episode and develop it with another character or location,” Saatchi explained. Or, if you’re feeling specific, you can dictate exactly what happens next.
The announcement also included the unveiling of 10 animated shows of various genres and styles, all crafted with AI tools. Showrunner operates on Fable Studio’s AI model, built upon open-source AI systems from OpenAI and Stable Diffusion.
