Meta is shaking things up in the AI world with a daring new strategy.


The social media behemoth is reportedly testing its very own in-house chip, designed to handle those brainy AI workloads. Why, you ask? To cut down on their dependence on hardware giants like Nvidia, of course!


Partnering with Taiwan's TSMC, Meta is currently running a "small deployment" of these custom chips. If the test goes well, expect to see production ramp up faster than you can say "artificial intelligence." While Meta has dabbled in custom chips before, this marks their first foray into training AI models with them.
