There is a lot of suspicion that it actually has - although this is consistently denied by Sam Altman, Greg Brockman et al.
One school of thought, that I have some sympathy with, is that the huge influx of randoms asking dumb questions costs more than OpenAI thought it would. So now they're throttling the big GPT-4 stuff from general consumption.
Either that or it's just more awareness of what good Generative AI looks like - and frustration from increasingly-educated users that everything isn't that.
Remember - this is all so much better than you ever had less than 10 months ago.
So, in the nicest possible terms - perhaps it's time to stop whining and just crack on with creating.
