Google is rolling out a new feature in India: Gemini-powered video search!
This exciting tool lets users take a video with Google Lens and ask Gemini AI questions about its content. To get in on the action, users need to join the "AI Overviews and More" experiment in Google Search Labs. However, Google hasn't specified the required video length for this feature.
India, with its massive monthly user base for Google Lens, is the perfect testing ground. Participants can explore this feature on mobile devices, but for now, it only supports English queries. Announced earlier at Google I/O for U.S. users, this feature is now making waves in India.

Google is keen on promoting multimodal search in India, where many users prefer voice or video communication. Impressively, over 40% of Indian users would rather chat with Gemini by talking than typing. To enhance this experience, Google has introduced Gemini Live in Hindi and plans to add support for Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu soon.
This innovative approach follows Google's 2021 introduction of photo and text search, which was expanded to multimodal search in India in 2022. By embracing diverse communication methods, Google is making search more accessible and intuitive for Indian users.
