Get ready to see the world through a whole new lens—literally!

Google Lens has upped its game, now allowing users to ask questions about videos in near-real-time. English-speaking Android and iOS users can capture videos and inquire about objects within them, thanks to Google's snazzy Gemini AI model.

Imagine filming a school of fish and asking Lens why they’re swimming in circles. Voilà! You get an overview with insightful info and resources. To try this out, you’ll need to join Google’s Search Labs and opt into the experimental features. Simply hold your phone’s shutter button, and Lens will do the rest.

But wait, there’s more! Lens can now search with both images and text simultaneously. Snap a photo, ask a question, and get your answer—all in one go. Plus, Lens is diving into e-commerce. Spot a product you fancy? Lens will show you the price, deals, and more. And yes, there will be ads, because 4 billion Lens searches are shopping-related each month. Cha-ching!

Google’s ahead in the AI video race, even as Meta and OpenAI gear up with similar features. While Lens isn’t real-time yet, it’s paving the way for a future where curiosity meets instant answers.
