Great news for private tenants and homeowners in Caerphilly!
The council is now offering grants to eligible households to boost the energy efficiency of their homes. If your home has solid fuel (coal) fires, back boilers, or single glazed windows, this could be your chance to make it warmer and more energy-efficient.
To qualify for an energy crisis grant, you need to be either an owner-occupier or a private sector tenant who has lived in the property for at least 12 months. Your household’s combined gross income must be £31,000 or less, or you must have a household member vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold property. Additionally, your home must be considered energy inefficient by the council, and privately rented properties must comply with all current regulations and have an energy rating of D or E.
