Conveyancers are raising their voices, calling for the respect they deserve in the property market.
A recent roundtable by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) highlighted the need for greater understanding and appreciation of conveyancers' roles. The consensus? It's time to elevate the profession's profile, making it a more attractive career and helping consumers grasp the complexities involved.
Natalie Moore from Aconveyancing emphasised the burden on conveyancers, urging for better client education and respect. Shayleigh Isom from Simply Conveyancing echoed this, noting the challenges when clients don't understand the time and effort required.

The CLC is committed to raising awareness and has reported to the Legal Services Board (LSB) about its efforts to empower consumers. This includes collaboration with HM Land Registry and the Legal Ombudsman to provide more information to the public, aiding in informed decision-making.
The CLC's report highlights consumer satisfaction, with 91% of licensed conveyancer clients happy with their service. Complaints are rare, underscoring the profession's high standards.
CLC chief executive Sheila Kumar acknowledges progress but insists there's more to do. The goal? Ensure consumers can make informed choices in the legal market, benefiting everyone involved.
